Akin Dufferin sits on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, the Métis, and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
Located at 444 Dufferin Street, in Units E and 3, near Dufferin St and Queen Street West, Akin Dufferin has 22 studio spaces ranging from 22 square foot to 150 square foot. Unit E is on the ground floor level, 6 steps north of the Alma Ave bus shelter. Unit 3 is on the second level, a few steps south of the Alma Ave bus shelter)
Unit E is on the ground floor. It has step free access through main entrance, though there is a small lip at the entrance and there are two doors to pass through. The doors are not automated. There is a ground level accessible washroom. There are no grab bars in the bathroom and the toilet is not raised. The floor is at ground level throughout the studio and there is a loading dock that allows for vehicle access.
Unit 3 has a separate entrance south of Unit E. It is upstairs on the second floor. There are 3 wide steps outside to climb before accessing the entrance which is a locked door on one's right hand side. Inside there are 6 steps up, a small landing, and turning to one's left another 6 steps up. At that point there is a longer landing of approximately 4 steps to one's left, then 13 steps up leading to an unlocked door on one's right. Approximately 2 steps in and 3 steps to one's right, is the locked studio door to Unit 3. Inside the floor is level throughout. The doors are not automated. There is a floor level accessible washroom, however there are no grab bars in the bathroom and the toilet is not raised.
The 29 Dufferin bus stops very close by, both directions, at Alma Street, however the pedestrian crossing is 1.5 blocks north of the drop-off point on the north-going side.
There is no reserved onsite parking but there is street parking on Dufferin St and the surrounding side streets - please check the street signs for hours.
