Akin Collective is a Toronto-based arts organization that provides affordable studio space as well as arts-based programming through it's sister non-profit organization, Akin Projects. Our studios provide a working environment that maintains a friendly and inspiring atmosphere where people can work on creative endeavors and entrepreneurial undertakings of all kinds. We build community through monthly art critiques, workshops, open studio events, gallery tours, exhibitions, as well as various other art projects.

Check our calendarblog, or Facebook group for events, programming and other projects.

Information on this site is available in alternative formats upon request. Please contact us at info@akincollective.com for accommodation requests.

Joining Akin

Everyone is welcome at Akin regardless of skill level or experience! It is not necessary to submit a portfolio or C.V. to become an Akin member at one of our studios. The Akin Studio Program at MOCA is the exception. Akin is committed to maintaining an anti-oppressive, queer and trans positive environment, welcoming indigenous, marginalized, and racialized folks, and folks with disabilities.

To become an Akin member first please make arrangements to meet with the studio manager and and visit the location(s) you are interested in. If there is an available spot that you would like to move into then we require a last month's rent deposit and first month's rent payment and for you to sign our online contract. If there is no studio spot available you can be added to our waiting list after your tour. Membership rentals are month-to-month.

Interested in a shared or dedicated membership at Akin? Get in touch to book a tour!

Email: info@akincollective.com

If you're interested, we would love to show you around but please note that studio tours are by appointment only.
