Solarship

One of our members, Jen Horak, works for Solarship. They've been constructing solar-powered aircraft that don't require fuel, roads or runways. The solarship is built to deliver critical supplies to people in remote areas who don’t have access to the things they need to survive. They have just received a grant to build their next generation Solarship to deliver critical supplies to First Nations communities in Northern Canada. Its second mission is to head to central Africa. Making use of the optical properties of various minerals, Sears depicts the quiet spaces left behind, markers of a Toronto in transition: forgotten mini malls, parking lots, the view out the window. The intent is to reflect an area's personality. She is a recent graduate of OCAD.
