Firing fee is determined by the size of your individual pieces, plus an added 2-inch clearance (shelf and wall clearance).
Here is a guide to calculating an estimate on a full-shelf basis, based on the height of your piece. If your pieces take only a half, a quarter, or an eighth of a 21” shelf, then you can divide the rate proportionately (i.e.: rate shown x 0.5, 0.25, or 0.125). See the firing rules info sheet for more clarity.

TIMING:
May vary depending on communal kiln loads. Expect 1-2 weeks on average. Please communicate timelines.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Commercial clays only - no foreign/wild clays accepted.
FOR BISQUE
Only accepting bone-dry pieces, no cool-touch greenware allowed due to limited storage. Your pieces must be in immediate firing condition upon drop-off.
FOR GLAZE
All pieces must be clean of glaze at the bottom. Underglaze is fine, but you risk defects if it sticks to the cookie/shelf.
Please specify if your glaze is runny by adding a note with your piece and elevating your piece onto a cookie.
SINGLE FIRING
Acceptable if you are renting the whole kiln
Extra 10% charged for the setup of a custom firing schedule (must provide the preferred ramp schedule and accept the results with any liabilities caused by the experimental approach.)
NOTICE REGARDING DAMAGE:
If your piece is damaged during a joint firing due to another user's piece, you will not be required to cover the cost of the firing.
Any damages to the kiln or others' pieces caused by improper submission of your work will be charged to you (including repair costs and the other potter's firing fee).
Please ensure your pieces are fully dry and make cookies for your work!
NOTICE REGARDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Please be aware the work may be photographed while in process. Please let know if you prefer images of your work to not be shared on social media.
Help me support wellbeing at the workplace and notify me if you work has explicit or sensitive content.
NOTICE REGARDING GLAZES:
If you are firing glazes that will run, please make trays for your pieces. If you have no experience using a particular glaze, please make tests before glazing large work to avoid disappointment.
Please provide full information about your glazes on arrival; doing so will greatly reduce the risk of damage and will help me provide best service.
OUR COMMITMENT
We am committed to firing your pieces in a manner that is appropriate and safe for your work and my kilns.
We will refuse firing of work that isn’t safe for the kilns or surrounding work, or which might cause serious damage to the equipment, or may pose a health and safety threat.
