Akin Richmond-Portland
Akin Richmond-Portland is a 7000 sqft studio split between two units on the tenth floor of a multi-use office building. The studio has large windows which face south, east and west. Akin Richmond-Portland has 39 dedicated studios, including 13 private studios. Dedicated studios range from 25 sqft ($195/month) to 300 sqft ($1100/month).
The shared space at Akin Richmond-Portland is positioned next to a large east facing window. It has tables, chairs, drying racks, shared storage, and easels. The shared space can accommodate 10 shared members at $82/month.
There are two kitchenettes, a communal area and bathrooms, including a universal bathroom, which are shared with the other businesses on the floor.
If you’re interested in becoming a member at Akin Richmond-Portland, please email info@akincollective.com. Priority will be given to current Akin members from other studio locations, and alumni. Akin will also prioritize applicants who self-identify as belonging to one or more of these equity-deserving groups: Indigenous, black, persons of colour, 2SLGBTQIAP, deaf persons, persons with disabilities and persons living with mental illness. As outlined in the Toronto Arts Council Equity Framework.
All memberships include 24/7 access (with the exception of Akin Sterling which is open 8am-8pm), wifi, utilities, insurance, shared storage, kitchenettes, communal spaces and common area cleaning. Prices include HST.

Getting here by TTC
Akin Richmond-Portland is near Queen Street West and Bathurst Street, King Street West and Spadina Ave. The studio is 200m from the Queen Streetcar, east and westbound, and 110m from the northbound Bathurst Streetcar and 210m from the southbound Bathurst streetcar. Osgood Station is the closest subway station, which is 1.4 km away.
Bike and Car Parking
Bike parking is available outside the building on Richmond Street, and paid parking is available on Richmond Street right outside the studio.

Akin Richmond-Portland is located on the 10th floor of the building. There are no steps to enter the building and all of the floors are accessible by elevator. Women’s, men’s and universal/gender-neutral bathrooms are available on each floor.
