Clothing repair and mending workshop

This event is exclusively offered to Akin members.

This workshop is a sewing night for the Akin community to provide a time and space for members to bring ripped/broken clothes to fix. The purpose of the event is to teach Akin members how to fix their clothes on their own and reduce clothing waste. There will be a short introduction and presentation about reducing clothing waste. Participants will be provided with basic instructions/tips on how to mend clothes.

Sewing needles, thread, scissors and light refreshments will be provided. Participants are asked to bring the clothing or items they would like to repair as well as any accessories they may need (buttons, for example). Please keep in mind that the event will run for only 2 hours, so please ensure you bring simpler projects that don’t take more than the allotted time to complete!

Participants will receive an email prior to the event confirming their participation and where to meet the event host.
