This event is exclusively offered to Akin members.
Akin Writing Crit Group, May 11th from 6-9pm at Remote Gallery
The Akin Writing Crit Group is a non-judgmental space where members can share their writing and receive thoughtful feedback, suggestions, and reflections. Each participant is allocated a 20-minute time slot to present their work and engage with the group. Please note: Participants are encouraged to email their writing one week in advance of the meeting, allowing the group time to read and prepare thoughtful feedback. Participants will receive instructions after registering.
Writers may choose how they share their work: reading a short excerpt for targeted feedback, presenting a full piece aloud (such as a poem), or circulating their writing in advance via email for discussion. Participants are also encouraged to guide the group on their preferred method of critique—whether oral, written, or otherwise. Paper and pencil supplies will be available.
During their session, writers can pose specific questions, workshop ideas, or explore challenges within their work. While it is most productive when participants bring writing to critique, time may also be used to develop story outlines, address plotting issues, or refine concepts.
All forms of writing are welcome, including fiction, nonfiction, memoir, screenwriting, essays, poetry, and more.
