Learn to Knit Workshop

  • Remote Gallery Toronto Canada (map)

This event is offered exclusively to Akin Members.

Designed for beginners, this workshop teaches the basics of knitting. You will cover how to knit, purl, cast-on, and bind-off, and get some hands-on practice. There's no final product resulting from this workshop—just a chance to build skills, get comfortable with the foundations, and get excited about where your knitting journey can take you! Participants will be able to take some yarn and knitting needles home with them and keep working on new skills after the workshop. Yarn, knitting needles, scissors and light refreshments will be provided.

Registration is free for Akin members from any location, but limited to 8 participants. Akin Members: check your email for the registration link. Registration is required and closes on April 10th.

This session is hosted by Akin St Clair member Alison Cooley. Alison Cooley is an artist and artsworker. Her practice includes ceramics and illustration, as well as the fibre arts, game design, and prop-making. She teaches knitting at Yarns Untangled in Kensington Market, and at the Kimel Family Centre in North York.
