The Black Cat’s 2nd Year Juried Exhibition x The Gladstone Hotel
Exhibition runs from April 16th – April 26th 2015
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 25TH, 2015
April 2015 marks the second anniversary of The Black Cat. During which time we’ve hosted over 65 exhibitions and openings, and had over 7,000 attendees walk through our doors. To mark the occasion we are hosting a juried exhibition on the main floor gallery at The Gladstone Hotel. A space that is over twice the size of our own!
We are looking for your submissions, spanning the diverse community of photographers, painters, sculptors, drawers, printmakers, new media, interactive and all other mediums.

The result will be a curated exhibition that highlights the community surrounding The Black Cat as The Best Contemporary Art Gallery for Emerging Artists in Toronto. All those who have show at the gallery in the past and who are interested in the future will be considered.
The following Jury will review submissions, with specializations in various mediums, and with a diverse background in a variety of creative fields:
Tara-Lynn Bartolini, Agent and Curator, Boondock Agency.
Devan Patel, Curator and Co-Director of Project Gallery.
Daniel Neuhaus, Director of Photography, Toronto Life Magazine.
Kara Lynne Wark, Art Director, JWT Toronto.
Graeme Luey, Graphic Designer & Co-Director/Curator at #Hashtag Gallery
Those selected for the Exhibition, will also be invited to a private dinner party in the space prior to the opening reception.
PLUS: Two artists whose work are reviewed but do not fit the overall curatorial vision of the jury, will also beawarded a one-week show at The Black Cat.
Exhibition runs from April 16th –April 26th.

Gallery hours: Tuesday - Sunday: 12-7pm, Monday: Closed
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 25 TH, 2015
You may submit a maximum of 5x works, in one submission, for three dimensional work multiple images of one piece may be submitted:
Submission fee: $50 + HST

ON THE CHECKOUT PAGE:
Along with a digital submission of each of your piece(s),
Please include the following details as appropriate (not all are mandatory)
1. Title, medium, and date of each work submitted.
2. Artist bio, artist statement, description of project, resume or CV
3. Size of the work unframed, or framed and any specific installation criteria.
4. Suggested selling price. There will be a 35% commission on all works sold.
Technical specifications:
1. All submissions must be standard resolution jpeg files, sized at 72 dpi and a maximum of 2000 pixels in length.
2. All files must be named LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_IMAGETITLE.jpg
