We’re thrilled to announce that a kiln is coming to Akin Davisville! The kiln is owned and operated by Akin Davisville’s own ceramic artist, Andrea Liao. Andrea will be offering flexible, tiered memberships to support makers at every stage of their practice — from those firing occasionally to artists with ongoing studio work. Ceramic artists and potters will be able to reserve space in shared firings or book full kiln loads for custom schedules, with all firings carefully operated and managed by Andrea.

Open to the public

Firings will be available to the public, you do not need to be an Akin Member to access the kiln. Andrea’s goal is to make firing accessible, reliable, and community-driven—providing local potters with a consistent and supportive space to complete their work.

In the heart of Midtown Toronto

About The Operator

Andrea Liao (@andrealiao.ca) is a ceramic artist based in Toronto. She began her ceramics journey at the Gardiner Museum in 2022 and later trained at the Haliburton School of Art + Design in 2023, where she learned kiln operation and foundational glaze chemistry.

Andrea is an active potter at Akin Davisville and will provide community firing services to support local potters in the midtown area starting mid-December 2025.
