Akin is happy to announce that we have secured multi-year lease extensions at Akin Dupont and Akin Richmond-Bathurst! This means we have the opportunity to continue fostering our vibrant artistic community in these spaces for years to come.

This feels especially meaningful as Akin Dupont celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year. The space has been an important part of Akin’s history and community and reaching this milestone while also extending our lease for another 5 years is a wonderful way to mark the moment.

Longer leases are an important part of building stability for Akin and for the artists we support. They also allow us to deepen our connections with the neighbourhoods in which we work. Having the ability to plan further into the future strengthens our capacity to provide reliable, long-term creative space and reinforces the kind of security and continuity that artists so often struggle to find in the city.

As artists ourselves, we understand the significance of having a stable creative workspace. We remain committed to creating happy and safe creative workspaces, while navigating the ever-changing landscape of Toronto's real estate market.

Thank you to our community for your continued support! Here's to many more years of artistic collaboration and growth!
