My upcoming exhibition, Liminality, opens this October at Remote Gallery. This exhibition is presented as part of the Space Award, awarded by Toronto Arts Foundation in partnership with Akin.
LIMINALITY
A landscape after rupture exists in suspension between what has disappeared and what is still taking form. What follows has yet to become fully legible.
An ending and a beginning may coexist within this interval without clearly belonging to either. What remains, what disappears, and what begins to emerge are not always discernible.
Bringing together painting, moving image, and installation, Liminality approaches this condition as an indeterminate material and perceptual inquiry.
آستانگی
منظره‌ای پس از گسست، در تعلیق میان آنچه ناپدید شده و آنچه هنوز در حال شکل‌گرفتن است، وجود دارد. آنچه پس از آن می‌آید، هنوز به‌تمامی خوانا و قابل‌درک نشده است. پایان و آغاز می‌توانند در این فاصله هم‌زمان حضور داشته باشند، بی‌آنکه به‌روشنی به یکی از آن‌ها تعلق داشته باشند. آنچه باقی می‌ماند، آنچه ناپدید می‌شود و آنچه آغاز به ظهور می‌کند، همیشه قابل ادراک و تشخیص نیستند. آستانگی با گرد هم آوردن نقاشی، تصویر متحرک و چیدمان، با این وضعیت به‌مثابه‌ی یک جست‌وجوی نامتعینِ مادی و ادراکی مواجه می‌شود.
